WordPress Developer

Position Overview

We’re looking for a WordPress Developer who understands how to develop, customise and maintain WordPress websites. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, passionate about web technologies, and have experience in developing responsive and SEO-optimised solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, customise, and maintain WordPress websites (themes & plugins).

Develop responsive and SEO-friendly websites based on current design practices.

Integrate APIs, third-party tools, and plugins to add value.

Optimise websites for speed, security, and performance.

Troubleshoot and provide timely resolutions.

Provide high-quality deliverables in collaboration with designers, developers, and SEO.

Stay current with trends related to WordPress, PHP, and web technologies.

Requirements Must-Have:

Demonstrated experience as a WordPress Developer (you’ll need to provide a portfolio).

Strong understanding of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery.

Development experience with WordPress themes and page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, etc.).

Ability to create and customise WordPress plugins.

A good understanding of SEO relevant to WordPress development.

Strong understanding of cPanel/Hosting environments and moving websites.

Strong debugging skills with the ability to solve problems.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience with WooCommerce or custom eCommerce solutions.

Experience working with REST APIs and integrated into WordPress.

Experience using Git/GitHub version control.

Experience with security hardening and caching and other optimisation techniques.

Understanding of Core Web Vitals & page speed optimisation.
